Independent vs. internal
Internal testing is analysis a supplier runs on its own material. Third-party testing is analysis performed by an independent laboratory with no stake in the result. Independence is what makes the number credible.
What to verify
- The result is tied to your specific batch/lot — see reading a COA.
- The analytical method is named (e.g. HPLC for purity, mass spec for identity).
- The documentation is available on request, not just asserted.
