Third-Party Testing Explained

July 30, 2026

"Third-party tested" is one of the most important phrases on a research peptide listing — but only if it's real. Here's what it actually means.

Independent vs. internal

Internal testing is analysis a supplier runs on its own material. Third-party testing is analysis performed by an independent laboratory with no stake in the result. Independence is what makes the number credible.

What to verify

  • The result is tied to your specific batch/lot — see reading a COA.
  • The analytical method is named (e.g. HPLC for purity, mass spec for identity).
  • The documentation is available on request, not just asserted.

Independent, batch-specific documentation is a core item on any supplier checklist.
