CJC-1295 without DAC — often studied as the modified GHRH(1-29) fragment sometimes labeled mod-GRF(1-29) — is a growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analog whose proposed mechanism centers on engagement of the GHRH receptor. Its behavior in model systems is interpreted as a stabilized mimic of the body's own GHRH signal.
GHRH-receptor engagement
The peptide is proposed to bind the pituitary GHRH receptor, a class-B G-protein-coupled receptor. Receptor activation is associated with stimulation of adenylate cyclase, a rise in intracellular cAMP, and downstream signaling linked to growth-hormone synthesis and release in cell and tissue models.
