What is sermorelin?
Sermorelin is the 29-amino-acid N-terminal fragment of human growth-hormone-releasing hormone, written GHRH(1-29)-NH2. Native GHRH is 44 residues long; the first 29, with an amidated C-terminus, form the shortest fragment that retains the full receptor activity of the parent hormone. Sermorelin keeps the natural sequence across that span, with no substituted residues.
Because it is the unmodified active core of GHRH, sermorelin is the baseline against which modified analogs are compared. Laboratories use it to study GHRH-receptor signaling in pituitary somatotroph models and the pulsatile character of GH release. V8 Peptides supplies it as lyophilized powder in 5 mg and 10 mg vials.

Reconstitution & storage for research
Adding 2 mL of diluent to the 5 mg vial gives 2.5 mg/mL; the same 2 mL in the 10 mg vial gives 5 mg/mL. If you want identical stocks from either size, 1 mL in the 5 mg vial also gives 5 mg/mL. At 2.5 mg/mL, a 40 µL aliquot contains 100 µg. Our reconstitution calculator runs the same arithmetic for any vial size and diluent volume.
A sterile diluent such as bacteriostatic water is the usual choice for multi-use research vials. Direct the diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial instead of onto the powder, then swirl gently until the solution is clear. Do not shake; vigorous agitation can foam or shear the material. Sermorelin contains a methionine at position 27, which is vulnerable to oxidation, so minimize headspace exposure and keep solutions refrigerated.
Storage conditions
- Unopened vial: refrigerate at 2–8 °C; move to −20 °C if the vial will sit for an extended period.
- Environment: keep the powder away from heat, moisture and direct light, and let a cold vial reach room temperature before opening so condensation does not form inside.
- After reconstitution: return the solution to 2–8 °C, label it with concentration and preparation date, and split it into aliquots if it will be sampled more than a few times.
Quality & testing
Every lot of Sermorelin is analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) before release, against a specification of ≥98% purity. The result is recorded on a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis, published on our COA page, so you can match the lot number on the vial to the document before the material enters your workflow.
