What is ipamorelin?
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide with the sequence Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. It belongs to the growth-hormone secretagogue class and acts as an agonist at GHS-R1a, the ghrelin receptor. Two non-standard residues, aminoisobutyric acid and D-2-naphthylalanine, distinguish it from earlier GHRP-type sequences.
When the compound was first characterized in the late 1990s, it was described as notably selective: in the models tested, it stimulated GH release with little effect on ACTH or cortisol. Reconstitution & storage for research
Adding 2 mL of diluent to the 10 mg vial gives 5 mg/mL; adding 2.5 mL gives 4 mg/mL, a convenient round figure for microgram-scale pipetting.
